On the Kaga Coast, which is a natural coast designated as a quasi-national park, pine forests protecting the coastline from erosion by waves and winds are being lost due to the expansion of damage by pine weevils. Tree-planting efforts are being made to reproduce the lost pine forests and restore the forests in the area to their original state.
