Environmental Journalist
Yoko Aoki is a Japanese environmental journalist, magazine editor and writer.
After graduating from International Christian University in Tokyo, she briefly worked in finance then moved to the publishing industry. She worked as a staff editor for “NAVI” (a car magazine) and “La Vie de 30ans” (a fashion lifestyle magazine). In 1999, she started up a web media venture company with other female magazine editors, founding "cafeglobe.com" and then worked as the editor-in-chief. This web medium was highly regarded and very successful, providing cutting edge contents for independent working women.
She was also very active in publishing a series of columns for a number of magazines, and frequently received media exposure as a commentator.
Now based in London and working as a freelance journalist/editor, she is very good at approaching "hard" topics such as social or scientific issues with "soft" perspectives based on her career as an editor of consumer magazines and web media.
