Foundation Information

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for your continued support of AEON Environmental Foundation. Since our establishment in 1990 as the first corporate foundation in Japan dedicated to global environmental issues, we have reached our 35th year. We deeply appreciate the long-standing cooperation of all those who have supported our initiatives.

Our Foundation operates four core programs. In 2024, our Environmental Grants program supported 110 nature conservation projects with a total of 84.01 million yen. As part of our Tree Planting efforts, we worked with volunteers in four locations in Japan, including Okoppe Town in Hokkaido and Tsuyama City in Okayama Prefecture, and two overseas sites. Through our Awards program, we presented the MIDORI Prize for Biodiversity to youth from Kazakhstan and Peru at COP16 in Colombia. We also held AEON SATOYAMA Forum with universities under the theme “Creating Sustainable SATOYAMA Commons”, promoting dialogue and cultivating future environmental leaders.

Through these initiatives, we continue to promote a sustainable future in harmony with nature, working with communities in Japan and abroad amid ongoing social and economic changes.
