Japan Geoparks
In 2022, we signed a partnership agreement with the Japanese Geoparks Network to support the development of Geopark-designated communities.
This collaboration promotes a sustainable society in harmony with nature—centered on geological heritage—
through the shared use of human and material resources.
What is a Geopark?
Geopark is a region where people explore landforms and geological history with a future-oriented perspective. It integrates geological conservation, education, research, and sustainable development, grounded in earth science.

Nine Geoparks of the Tohoku region will come together in Morioka City, Iwate Prefecture to introduce their activities. - National Conference of Japanese Geoparks Network［September 27- 28］
Geoparks from 47 regions will gather at Tokachidake Geopark in Hokkaido.
